Marazli Club – A Community United by the Museum
Marazli Club – A Community United by the Museum Marazli Club is a community of friends and patrons of the Odesa National Fine Arts Museum. It is a way of support deeply connected to the museum, its history, its art, and its future.
Founding Story
The idea for the Club was initiated by Oleksandr Roitburd — artist, curator, philosopher, and director of the museum from 2018 to 2021. He envisioned a transparent and ongoing model of community-driven support for the museum — a symbolic annual contribution reflecting a personal commitment to patronage from each member.
The idea was brought to life with the support of Oleksandra Kovalchuk, co-founder of the NGO Museum for Change and Deputy Director of ONFAM, who helped shape the Club’s format. She organized the first events and developed new ways of engaging with the museum.
The Club was officially registered in the winter of 2019. The first 30 members gathered for a tea ceremony in the museum’s courtyard — an intimate event with a guided tour from Roitburd himself and the first true sense of a shared mission.
